:*-[

Yesterday morning my youth group found out our youth pastor, Alex, was leaving. I kinda went into "shock", as in I wasn't incredibly sad at first because I hardly believed it. But today was his last Oasis night, and it kinda hit me. I'm so depressed :(. His last Sunday is December 27, and his last shabang with us is the teen Xmas party. We'll have fun, for sure, but it's so weird! No more Oasis with Alex? That isn't right. He's the only youth pastor I've had, because our last one moved to China right before 6th grade. AH! This is so UNRIGHT. And I don't even care that 'unright' isn't a word.
I don't really know what will happen with the youth group. I mean, it's smallish, but we need some sort of youth director. My mom heard the pastor's daughter, Adrielle, might be leading us for a while. She's nice, so hopefully it'll be okay.

'Nevertheless'

I've removed my Christmas music for a short time, because when I was listening to the radio a few minutes ago, I heard a great band, looked it up on playlist.com, and found several great songs of theirs! I love Nevertheless' music, and I hope you love it too!

High School Spanish

I haven't posted about school for a long time, so I figured this post should talk about it.
Okay, so high school is a lot different than middle school. The halls are WAY more crowded than the middle school's, and the kids are much much taller. I was one of the tallest people walking in the hall at the other school! My class is a lot different, probably because it's a Spanish class instead of an art one. My teacher is nice. She gives us our work (usually an easy worksheet) and then lets us talk! In the middle of my class - and probably the biggest difference - is lunch. It's the best time of my hour and a half I'm there, though. I sit with a kid named Alex, who I met at my second youth group, and some friends he brought to the table. They're all really nice, and it's a lot of fun!
Next Monday I have a presentation in front of the class! I have to say my name and list four of my characteristics (all in Spanish of course). Then I do the same with my best friend, and tell which class is my favorite. Lastly I tell what my favorite profesor(a) is. I'm not too worried, though. I've written my 'speech' and, after only reading it once, pretty much know it by heart.
Tomorrow I have a test, too. It's about describing words, ser, as my teacher calls it, which is 'you are' (tu eres) 'I am' (yo soy) 'we are' (nosotros somos) etc. etc., and adjectives (feminine and masculine).
I think I have everything down. All of what I said above was memorized, so I'm pretty confident about those.
Ah! My mom's cooking turkey in the oven and it smells sooo good!

Holidays

Thanksgiving is coming! That means it's time for me and my mom to start cooking and for all of us to start cleaning for the annual party at our house. My dad's side of the family always comes over for a Thanksgiving party, and it's almost always fun (keep in mind that on my dad's side, all of my cousins are much older than I. The youngest is seventeen, three years older than me). But every year my family has to clean the house really really well. And that's pretty boring and stress-filled for my mom.
I also go to my other grandparent's house. That party is usually a bit more fun because my cousins on that side are all near to my age. I also don't associate it to cleaning and cooking, like the other party.
Thanksgiving is like the open act of holidays, it's like the 'opening holiday'. Christmas is pretty much the whole month after it, because there are so many traditions spread out through it. Then comes New Year's Eve, which is more like a half-holiday, if you ask me. But Christmas is like a whole month long, like I said before. And if you aren't celebrating Christmas, maybe your celebrating Kwanzaa or Hanuka. I really don't know anything about those holidays, so I can't say anything about them. ;)
Christmas always makes me want to sing 'It's the most wonderful time of the year', because it is!

Bratty Soccer Player

If you watch the girls in white, you can see that one elbowed the girl in red and the other grabbed her shorts, but the red girl has some anger-management issues!
